How it works

Your path to the altar

Six steps from your first message to your official certificate. I’m with you for each one.

Check my date

Send the Check my date form or call me. I’ll tell you whether I’m free and answer your first questions.

Let’s meet

We talk through the ceremony you imagine and your story. At this first meeting I walk you through the next steps and the paperwork. To confirm How the first meeting works.

Lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage

Each of you completes the notice and I lodge it as your celebrant, at least one month and no more than 18 months before the wedding. I check your ID and documents.

Write your ceremony

I help you shape your vows, music, readings and running order into a ceremony that sounds like you. About three months before the wedding we meet again to review the plan. To confirm That this is your usual process.

Your wedding day

I arrive dressed to suit your day. You, your partner, your two witnesses and I sign the marriage certificates, and you receive your ceremonial certificate.

After the ceremony

Within 14 days I lodge your paperwork with the state registry. You can then order your official certificate, which you’ll need to change your name.

What to bring

Each of you needs:

  • Proof of your date and place of birth, such as a birth certificate or passport
  • Photo ID, such as a driver’s licence or passport
  • Proof that any previous marriage has ended: divorce orders, a death certificate or a court annulment
  • An official English translation of any document that isn’t in English

You don’t need all of these to sign the notice, but I must see them before the ceremony. More legal questions
